Talent is universal, but venture capital is not. Despite the rapid proliferation of venture capital in the recent decades, a surprisingly low percentage (<15%) of venture capital goes towards underrepresented founders.
Underdogs Capital is here to change that. At Underdogs Capital, we back underrepresented founders solving important problems that move our world forward.
India is rapidly becoming the hotbed of innovation and startups in the global ecosystem. By focusing on frugal underrepresented founders from India solving important societal problems, we believe we have a unique recipe to find deals that can generate non-linear returns while at the same time making our world a better place. We strive to be the first cheque in these companies and hence will mostly be investing in pre-seed rounds.

While we will primarily make investments in underrepresented founders, we might make exceptions in ~20% of the deals where we feel there’s a potential for strong economic returns regardless of founder demographic.
